…Is for good men (and women) to do nothing.
Take a look around you. It doesn’t take long to see that evil is rampant in our country, state, and county.
There have been children murdered by family members in White County.
In White County, children are hungry. Raising themselves. Begging silently for someone to help them. Suffering unimaginable physical and psychological pain. Evil is out there.
But you know what? 1 John 4:4 says greater is HE living in me, than he who is in the world. We can make a difference in this evil world because we have the knowledge that HE has already conquered it! We know what happens at the end of the book.
However, what happens until that glorious day depends on our willingness to serve Him. We know there’s evil out there, but what are we going to do about it? Are we going to stay at home with the covers over our head? Binge watch Netflix? Pray and hope someone else does the rest of the work?
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:31-40
We were not put here on earth to live a life of luxury and binge watch Netflix. We were put here to show Jesus to the world. We can’t do that from our living room recliner.
What our foster families and volunteers do in the lives of foster children is like a light shining in a dark place. By becoming a volunteer or foster family you are shining the light of Jesus in the lives of children and biological families who would otherwise live in constant darkness. By supporting The CALL through donations you are helping the hands and feet to keep on moving.
Let’s do what we can to fight off the evil until Jesus comes back to finish the job.
